I don't even watch anymore. I watched every game from 1992 to 2022 and I just... stopped. It's not anger, it's more like exhaustion. Maybe I'll check back in when there's something to check in on.
I sat in the Rose Garden — yes I'm calling it that — in 2000 watching Scottie Pippen and watching us almost go to the finals. That team had something. These guys are kids. I'm 52 years old. I don't have rebuild years left in me.
My dad has had season tickets since the Clyde Drexler days. He still goes. He'll probably die with those season tickets. I find it both deeply depressing and deeply moving.
The Blazers have had 'young talent with upside' for a decade. At some point upside has to become actual production or it's just a marketing term.
Anyone who thinks Scoot Henderson is the answer hasn't watched him against NBA-level defense. I love the kid's energy but he's a backup on a good team right now, not a franchise savior.
People forget this organization CHOSE to move on from Dame instead of being stuck in the mediocre playoff-but-not-a-contender purgatory forever. I respect the decision even if the execution was rough.
The Thunder drafted generationally and now they're a contender. The process works IF you get the picks right. That's the whole thing. It's one variable. One very large, very uncertain variable.

scoot henderson is going to be very good. i genuinely believe this. give the man a full system and a coach who isn't changing every 18 months and watch what happens
i think people are forgetting that we were a small market team that competed at the highest level for like 25 years. that's actually remarkable. maybe the extraordinary run is what was unusual, not now.
Hot take: Portland is actually a bad NBA market because of the weather. When it's beautiful outside, nobody wants to sit in an arena. When it's miserable, you still have to drive to the Moda Center and find parking.
Bold claim for people who think this is hopeless: OKC was literally the worst team in the league six years ago. Now look. It takes time. Painful, boring, season-ticket-canceling time. But it works.
